Projects
Taxonomic Initiatives
uBio has spawned a number of intelocking and cooperative initiatives, linked to international collaboration in Taxnonomy. TNS, NameBank and
Classification Bank are all direct off shoots of the uBio effort. We are now involved with project efforts and planning activities underway in the US and
Europe. We are working with the Smithsonian, ITIS, Species 2000, GBIF, JSTOR, and the MBL and Wood’s Hole Oceanigraphic..
Data Mining Libraries and Museums
We are currently working with the American Museum of Natural History and other institutions to extract and tag infomation from scanned texts, collection notes, and other historical volumes and
link them through dynamic indexing structures to a common scientific concept repository.
Wireless Sports
We have an effort underway to build a completely wireless system for scoring international fencing competitions. We have been
approached regarding the feasibility of using wireless technologies in other sporting activities.
Security and Safety
We have a number of product efforts underway to develop wireless hardware and enhanced RFID technology to build the
next generation of security and safety products. Sorry, but that about as detailed as we can get.
Automation, Analysis and Simulation
Spam has touched us deeply. We are looking into the pattern and hueristics of spam and worm propogation and have been developing a extended neural technology that can recognize
email spam. In fact what it recognizes and what it can tell you about mail and patterns goes beyond spam and into the realm of collaborative automation. There may be products in the near future.
Proposals, Joint ventures, Grants, Government Contracts
Yes. Nothing we can go into detail about.
