Technology that saves time, improves quality, and increases productivity ...

 ... and just looks fantastic!

If you have an interesting problem, we are experts at creative solutions.  It never hurts to ask, and if we can’t add value we’ll quickly tell you and try to find you someone who can.

So while we’d like to think that every thing we do is amazing, there are a few areas where we truly shine.

Analysis, Simulation, Automation and Expert Systems

We find patterns in everything. We’ve created expert systems that simulate a college admissions officer, found patterns in RF signals, simulated the movement of people during an evacuation, developed servers that automatically load balance traffic, and made an expert system to do environmental engineering.

Data Mining and Pattern Recognization

Over 80% of most stored data is never retrieved. Yet, there is a wealth of information in your database to be found. Trends, patterns and triggers. This is the technology that makes Anheiser Bush and Wal-Mart so formidible.  We’ve discovered buying and ordering patterns in large distributed corporate databases. In one instance, we built relations between divisional databases that uncovered patterns not evident in the master repository.  We’ve even gone beyond tradational data mining to extract relationships from scanned text and critical data from handwritten notes.

Distributed Collaboration Systems

Mail and word processors are not the be-all, end-all of Collaborative Applications.  We have been working in the area of unifying data technologies and the intelligent movement of data across networks to allow teams to preform complex tasks for over two decades.

We’ve done a sales automation system that turned the sales manager’s inbox, previously crammed with e-mail status reports, into a real time sales info center that generated spreadsheets, weekly forecasts, and rollups and automatically sent pointers to informational pages to division managers. The heart of the system was a 60-inch plasma display that graphically showed the current state of sales and forecasts in real time. (The sales force cut their paper work time in half and the sales manager made Vice President.)

Human Factors Engineering

The limits of a user’s or employee’s attention span is directly related to the organization of tasks. If you don’t pay attention, task time increases, error rates rise, and productivity drops.  The state of many data aqusition and information systems is primitive.  Menu, enter, press ...

Not only do we focus on the design and operation of operational systems, we look for ways to add automation and include intelligent anticipation. We built a system that made it possible for a college student to fill out as many as they liked of a thousand colleges’ applications, on the college’s own forms, in 10 minutes. And a facility usage modeling system that made it possible to describe the physical plants of an entire college campus, equivalent to a small city, including plumbing fixtures and staff and student occupancy patterns in hours rather than weeks by using the simple concept of “Is Like”

RF Engineering and Wireless Networking

We have experience with a range of microprocessors and radios, and an in depth knowledge of network protocols, patterns, and architectures. These include Security, Asset Management, Employee Tracking and Environmental Monitoring and Control.  We have the capability to build custom wireless devices that allow you to integrate almost anything into the coporate network.

We also do imaginative wireless applications.  We are currently filing patents on a technology we developed for wireless scoring of fencing (the kind with swords) competitions.

The quality goes in ...

Quality Engineering is not a speciality -- it’s a core value.  What we make, we test at every stage of the process.  Quality starts with design and goes past release.

Brave or foolish?

Our president, while Director of Engineering at MSi, a software publisher, actually put his home phone number on a retail shrink-wrapped software application as a technical support number.  Over 80,000 copies in use, and he was woken up less than half a dozen times in three years.

One simple call

Using a phone number to pre-fetch information allows you to eliminate a huge amount of data entry. We started using it in 1996. While more common today, most on-line forms still ask for name, address, city, state, zip and phone!
